Cross, Reuben C. – FUR, FEATHERS AND STEEL- 1940 1st edition – 78p – Dodd, Mead, NY – Rube was an important member of the Catskill School of Traditionalist Fly Tyers who famously tyed their flies sparsely dressed to match the patterns of the naturals on the famous local rivers, such as the Beaverkill, Willowemoc, and numerous others that have made the Catskills a mecca for trout anglers from all over the world. Rube was a quiet man who, it would seem, did not have much occasion to sign books. This copy is not only one of those rare signed copies. But apparently this copy was signed and warmly inscribed with a rare display of humor not at all common from Reuben. – Book is fine in very rare good dust jacket with small tape repairs as pictured.- $165.00
