| Edwards, Oliver – OLIVER EDWARDS’ FLYTYING MASTERCLASS – 1999 edition of 1994 1st – 246p – Merlin Unwin Books. Shropshire, UK – The author is known for his perfectionism when it comes to tying flies. But he does not tie for show cases – his aim is purely to create flies that catch fish. The fly patterns described step by step in this book are the 20 key imitations important to the angler. With a good range of these flies in different sizes and colors, you will have an irresistible menu for the most selective of trout. This is the art of imitative fly tying, and it comes from an expert whose clear illustrations make even the trickiest of techniques – from parachute hackles to dubbing loops – seem straightforward. Includes full-color pages of imitations along with many helpful drawings and clear, concise easy to follow tying procedures. – Book is fine plus in near fine dust jacket. This one is Signed and Inscribed by the author. - $85.00 | Click here for pictures |

| Evans, Hubert – THE SILENT CALL – 1930 1st edition – 248p – Dodd, Mead, NY – Here is a good old-fashion outdoor story book, the kind we just do not see anymore. The author gives us a selection of tales which I will list: Chapters include – The Silent Call – Tyee the Valiant – A Feud Within the Clan – Feast Time – The Spark of Death – Bear Truths – Barriers – Ruler of the Crags – The Threat of a Shadow – Conflicting Purposes – Lurkers at the Barrier – Morsels of Chance – On the Muskeg Trail – Allies of the Air – The Fighting Pioneer. Obviously this book contains enough good reading to occupy even the most serious armchair adventurer. – Book is very good in a chipped but entire dust jacket. - $25.00 | Click here for pictures |
| Family Circle – TROUT FLIES (And How to Tie Them) – 1954 1st edition – 48p – Nicolas Kaye – Here is an early book on fly tying that was very well-received and was therefore responsible for assisting many anglers of the day to begin tying flies. Published prior to the popularity of fishing emergers, included are color plates along with a plethora of the old wet-fly patterns which are now difficult to locate. A good reference for serious fly tyers. - It always delights me to find these early books in this extremely nice condition. This particular book, as you can see by viewing the photos, is in near perfect condition. This book is a truly wonderful, inexpensive collectible, and in addition to the valuable ageless information it contains, it will serve to actually dress-up an angler’s bookshelves. – book is very fine in a fine slip case with just a bit of fading. $45.00 | Click here for pictures |

| Fitzgerald, F-stop – SECRETS OF THE SALTWATER FLY – 1996 1st edition – 118p – Little Brown, Boston – Here is a stunning look at the elegant and growing sport of saltwater fly fishing combining dazzling photographs of flies and profiles of renowned fly designers. Long before there were high-tech fish-finding devices, anglers used elegant wisps of feathers and fur to take fish from the depths of the seas. Today’s angler is using the fly and no other photographer captures the beauty of these flies as well as this author. Includes forty-seven of his stunning color photographs of flies accompanied by profiles of the fly designers, with a discussion of the origin and development of each fly. | Flick, Art – STREAMSIDE GUIDE – 1947 1st edition 2nd printing – 110p- Putnam, NY – Art’s popular little book took off in the first printing, so they followed with this printing. This first edition of this little book has always been one of my favorites, particularly with the colorful period dust jacket. This jacket has an invisible tear on the front panel, but see if you can spot it in the photos. A charming little collectible and the flies and patterns still are just as important as when the book was originally printed. – Book is fine in repaired but unclipped whole attractive dust jacket Note: Please pardon the glare on the back jacket photo. - $85.00 | Click here for pictures |

| Foote, John Taintor – DAUGHTER OF DELILAH – 1936 1st Edition – 51p – Appleton – Century, NY – The author was a talented author and outdoorsman who wrote notable works of fiction about outdoor pursuits with an amusing slant. He later wrote movie scripts in Tinseltown. - This is another classic misadventure of our hero, the rather inept George Baldwin Potter and the travails he encounters while trying to be a successful angler. This work deals with George trying to co-exist as an ardent angler with a non-fishing wife. Foote’s books have stood the test of time and are still popular. This is a nice copy in an unclipped dust jacket. - $40.00 | Click here for pictures |

| Foote, John Taintor – BROADWAY ANGLER – 1937 1st edition – 44p – Appleton, NY – More of the angling humor of this beloved author. The story here, if you can imagine this; Is about a Broadway blonde transported form the chorus line to the totally alien realm of a muddy trout stream. Then imaging her replacing the stylish attire of Broadway for pants, a flannel shirt and hip boots. Now try to imaging her, among a group of fanatical anglers, calmly catching the biggest trout of the year with a bamboo pole and a worm. And to add to the charm of the humor, the story is related by the blonde herself. – Please Note: This is an ex-library book with the normal ink stamps. – Otherwise the book is very nice as you can see by viewing the accompanying photo. $20.00 | Click here for picture |
