| Greene, Harry Plunket – WHERE
THE BRIGHT WATERS MEET – 1929 2nd edition –
253p – Phillip Allan, London – This author was truly a writer
of quality and in “Where the Bright Waters Meet” he has
produced an outstanding angling autobiography, which is quite rightly
regarded as a classic of the chalk-streams. In this book, as well as
paying homage to the Bourne, he wrote chapters on Blagdon, the Test
and the Kennet, and whereas he does not actually provide instructions,
he has that rare quality to bring us to his side while he is fishing,
and leaves to learn from watching him at work. The writing talent of
Harry Plunket Greene has resulted in his being the favorite author of
many angling literature enthusiasts. A truly enjoyable book to read.
– Absolutely wonderful copy, no foxing, crisp and clean. -
