| Herd, Dr. Andrew – THE FLY – 2001 Limited to 500 Copies 1st Edition – 374p – Medlar Press, Ellesmere, Shropshire – The author is an associate editor of Waterlog and is well know for his contributions to that magazine. Dr. Herd is considered to be one of the most informed angling historians of modern times and his website is swamped with visits from those seeking historical angling facts. This book, “The Fly” was the result of decades of research into the history of angling and may well be the single most authoritative work published to date. The author does a good job of putting the reader in the shoes of those who have gone before, enabling us to understand what it was like to cast a fly in the days of yore. It is interesting to note that this book has received accolades from other authors, and that is an author’s greatest compliment for both himself and his work. – Nicely produced with sewn in silk marker. - $100.00
