McDonald, John – THE COMPLETE FLY FISHERMAN (The Notes and Letters of Theodore Gordon) – 1947 1st ed. – 552p – Schribner, NY – Little was actually known about Theodore Gordon by other than serious angling scholars prior to the publishing of this now classic study. I was in attendance when the author was inducted into the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum’s Angling Hall of Fame. At that presentation John was thanked by all for the tremendous effort put forth to preserve and present to the angling public this tremendously important information of the life and times of one of America’s most important and influential anglers. Included is a wonderful 4 page, what is apparently an old magazine article, which contains 2 full page color pictures of a box full of Gordon’s personally tyed flies that were left with Jim Deren former owner of the Angler’s Roost a well-know NY fly shop to be steamed. The article also contains a rare picture of the famous flies Halford sent to Gordon from England – Book is fine in a very good 62 year old dust jacket – A very rare signed and inscribed copy - $350.00
