Schwiebert, Ernest – MATCHING THE HATCH – 1955 1st edition – 221p – Macmillan, NY – I am old enough to remember when this book was published. I of course just had to have a copy and rushed out and purchased one which was obviously brand new back it 1955. Amazing as it may seem, this book is in the same condition as that copy I bought back in 55. This was the first of Schwiebert’s many books and is the most collectible of all the trade editions. This is without a doubt, the nicest copy of a 1955 issue book I have ever had occasion to see. This book was apparently stored in a drawer away from sunlight and obviously in a smoke free environment. The dust jacket on this book, unbelievably, still retains its original gloss. An absolute pristine signed and inscribed copy which makes it truly a rare prize for collectors of fine books. – Very fine plus in very fine plus – collector’s dream - $300.00 |
