Tod, E.M. – WET-FLY FISHING (Treated Methodically) – 1918 later printing of 1903 1st edition – 243p plus index and 4p of glowing newspaper reviews - Sampson Low, Marston, London – Since fish and their habits do not change and fish respond to the same stimuli as they did a hundred or a thousand years ago, it is a shame that these older books with their sage advice on both flies and techniques are so often overlooked while being labeled as outdated. If you read J.C. Mottram’s “Fly Fishing” (Some New Arts & Mysteries) you would see he wholeheartedly agrees with this principle. Changes do indeed take place, but they are limited to what man can do with his technology as regards new materials applied to the science of rod making and the synthetic materials now being used to tie flies. The fish, thankfully remain the same At any rate here is a wonderful little collectible with much helpful info for the angler that enjoys fishing wet flies and emergers. – small neat inscription on free front end paper – otherwise vg - $45.00
